Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program seeks Smart Building Specialist Interns based in Morristown, NJ, serving the NY Metro area. The program emphasizes hands-on field technician experience, exposure to sales, and project/ service operations during a 10-week, 40-hour-per-week internship.

Eligibility includes a high school diploma or GED and enrollment in or recent completion of a 2-year HVAC/building automation technical program.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Enrollment in or recent completion of a 2-year technical program in HVAC/Building Automation or related field.
Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
Willingness to work onsite in Morristown, NJ with no relocation stipend.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Comfortable with hands-on field work in various environments.

Responsibilities

Spend most time on job sites with experienced technicians learning installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation in buildings.
Gain exposure to sales by shadowing the sales team and learning solution design for building performance and safety.
Rotate through service and project delivery teams to understand installation to maintenance lifecycle.
Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and supporting new installations and system commissioning.
Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve drawing discrepancies and address challenges.
Document service activities and explain system operations to customers; participate in system upgrades when appropriate.
