Job summary

Siemens invites students to join its Smart Building Internship Program in Harleysville, PA, to gain hands-on field experience in HVAC automation, building systems, and project support. The internship blends field work, sales exposure, and operations rotations to develop practical skills and customer-facing capabilities.

You’ll rotate with experienced technicians, participate in on-site troubleshooting, and learn to document activities and communicate effectively with customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a 2-yearTechnical College/School pursuing HVAC/Building Automation or related program.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
• On-site work in Harleysville, PA with no relocation or housing stipend.
• Work authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Comfortable working in rooftops, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, indoors or outdoors.
• Hands-on role using hand tools, laptops, tablets, and other tech.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Team player with coworkers and customers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based laptops; quick to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on job sites with Siemens technicians learning installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation systems.
• Gain exposure to sales by spending time with the sales team and understanding customer design solutions.
• Rotate through service and project operations to support installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Assist in diagnosing issues and supporting new installations and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings.
