Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks an experienced Small Business Underwriter to lead new production in the assigned territory and to support agents with underwriting decisions. The role requires effective collaboration with field staff and agency partners to grow a profitable small business book while traveling 10-20% of time.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of underwriting/marketing experience, a college degree, and are encouraged to pursue AU/CIC/CPCU designations.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• AU, CIC, CPCU designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for new small business production in assigned territory.
• Quote, accept, decline and modify risks within authority.
• Apply knowledge of coverage forms, rating plans and guidelines in pricing.
• Answer incoming calls from agents on coverage, billing questions, and policy information.
