Job summary

Westfield-Insurance is seeking a Small Business Senior/Lead Underwriter who owns their territory, partners with the Territory Manager to drive profitable growth, and supports retention. Qualifications

• 5+ years of Commercial Underwriting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
• CPCU and PCIL certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages an assigned portfolio of business per underwriting strategies, profitability objectives, growth targets, retention goals, and customer experience expectations.
• Prioritizes and manages a high-volume workload across multiple agencies, balancing production, agency experience, underwriting integrity, responsiveness, and objectives.
• Collects, analyzes, and evaluates underwriting information to make sound risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
• Develops strong agency relationships to understand objectives, identify opportunities, and drive profitable outcomes.
• Leverages portfolio underwriting principles, analytics, and market insights to identify trends and actions that optimize territory performance.
• Collaborates with Sales, Product, Operations and key partners to align strategies and achieve profitable growth and retention.
• Acts as a resource for peers, sharing knowledge and promoting underwriting excellence across the team.
