Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina seeks a Direct Care Worker to support individuals with mental health needs, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. Sleepover shifts are required, with weekend hours in Friday-Sunday schedule.

You will assess goals, promote community engagement, assist with daily living, document progress, and participate in meetings. The role includes driving when needed and maintaining safety and rights for the people we serve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid USA Driver's License.
• Experience with individuals with mental health diagnoses, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals’ hopes and goals and provide supports to achieve them.
• Assist individuals in developing relationships in the community and with natural supports.
• Support participation in the community aligned with the person’s interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of individuals; assist with advocacy.
• Meet emotional, physical, and medical needs of individuals.
• Maintain person-centered plans and document progress and actions.
• Attend meetings and maintain certifications; follow agency policies.
• Assist with daily living tasks (housekeeping, meals, laundry, etc.) and occasional late-night shifts.
• Drive or arrange transportation as required.
• Ensure safety procedures, emergency preparedness, and incident documentation.
