Job summary

GitLab is seeking a SLED Solutions Architect to act as a trusted technical advisor for State, Local, and Education customers across the Northeast U.S. You will lead onsite and remote engagements, deliver tailored demos, and guide technical evaluations including POC/POV design.

Travel up to 50% is required. You'll partner with account executives to shape strategies, navigate budgeting cycles, and ensure compliant, secure, AI-enabled software delivery using GitLab.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical pre-sales or consulting for government or education sectors.
• Familiarity with modern software development and operations practices (CI/CD, DevSecOps).
• Ability to design and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, and security questionnaires.

Responsibilities

• Engage SLED customers onsite and remotely with demos, presentations, and workshops tying GitLab to their mission.
• Partner with SLED account executives to shape account strategies aligned with budgets and funding.
• Own the technical evaluation process, including POC/ POV design and delivery, and respond to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and security questionnaires.
• Support purchases made through cooperative purchasing agreements and statewide contract vehicles with partners.
• Guide customers through GovRAMP and NIST security requirements and show GitLab's security capabilities.
• Help agencies modernize legacy applications using GitLab and AI-assisted development to lower risk.
• Advise customers on adopting AI responsibly, including the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, following state policies.
• Lead creation of Customer Success Plans with technical success criteria and smooth handoff to deployment.
• Work with Account Executives to build data-driven business cases showing ROI and budget justification.
• Build relationships with CIOs, CISOs, agency directors, and procurement to advocate for GitLab across agencies and campuses.
• Collaborate with SI and state IT shared-services to scale GitLab adoption.
• Serve as the SLED advocate internally, channeling feedback to Product, Sales, and Marketing.
• Stay current on GitLab and related technologies; create reusable demos and assets.
