Job summary

GitLab is seeking a SLED Solutions Architect to advise State, Local, and Education customers on modernizing IT with the GitLab DevSecOps platform and AI-enabled capabilities. You will own technical evaluations, craft proofs of concept, and guide procurement through RFIs/RFPs, while collaborating with partners to scale adoption across agencies and campuses.

Remote with up to 50% travel, Northeast US residents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage SLED customers onsite and remotely with tailored demos and workshops tied to their mission.
• Shape account strategies aligned with fiscal year budgets, legislative appropriations, IT modernization plans, and funding.
• Own technical evaluation processes including POC/POV design and responses for RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and security questionnaires.
• Support purchases through cooperative purchasing agreements and state contracts with partners.
• Guide customers through GovRAMP, NIST frameworks, and show how GitLab’s security features reduce compliance burden.
• Help agencies modernize legacy systems and mainframes using GitLab and AI-assisted development.
• Advise on AI adoption in line with policies, governance, and data privacy requirements.
• Lead Customer Success Plans with clear success criteria and smooth deployment handoffs.
• Collaborate with Account Executives to build data-driven business cases for budget requests.
• Build relationships with CIOs, CISOs, and procurement to drive GitLab adoption across agencies and campuses.
• Work with systems integrators and state IT shared services to scale GitLab adoption.
• Serve as voice of the customer to Product, Sales, and Marketing.
• Stay current on GitLab technologies and create reusable SLED demos and assets.
