Job summary

Proofpoint is expanding its Field Sales team and seeks a Field-based Account Manager for the State, Local, & EDU (SLED) sector. You’ll manage existing clients and drive net-new sales within a named account territory, becoming the trusted IT security advisor for public clients.

Reporting aligns with the SLED Regional Sales Director within Proofpoint’s Field Sales org. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record in Public Sector sales, a broad network, cybersecurity product knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Experience selling to Public Sector clients and managing named accounts.
• Strong network of contacts within the region’s public sector and partners.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity products and IT solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual sales quotas for new and existing bookings.
• Forecast accurately and maintain CRM hygiene for portfolio integrity.
• Grow solution adoption with decision-makers and influencers across accounts.
• Develop regional marketing and channel plans for end users and partners.
• Navigate Public Sector budget cycles and procurement processes successfully.
