Job summary

Proofpoint is expanding its sales organization and seeks a field-based Account Manager for the State, Local, & EDU (SLED) team. You will manage existing client relationships and drive net-new acquisitions within a named account territory.

This role requires proven Public Sector selling, a strong regional network, and knowledge of cybersecurity solutions. You will report to the SLED Regional Sales Director and thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

Qualifications

• Proven sales experience in Public Sector with quota attainment.
• Strong network of clients and channel partners in the region.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security or software IT industry.
• Autonomous, self-motivated with excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned State, Local, & EDU accounts from prospecting to implementation.
• Establish Proofpoint as an IT security trusted advisor.
• Report to the SLED Regional Sales Director and cover named SLED accounts.
• Drive net-new customer acquisition within a named territory.
