Job summary

McWane MPI Calera is seeking experienced Machine Operators to join our Pipe Fabrication and Machining operation. The role covers measuring, threading, and adjusting flange fit and facing the flange on ductile or steel pipe using lathes and threaders, with crane-assisted movement of pipe between machining centers.

The position requires 1-3 years in a similar role and a high school diploma or GED, with strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wears appropriate PPE including steel toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and mask.
• Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area.
• Operate forklift to move pipe inside/outside the plant.
• Operate the pipe cut-off saw.
• Test flange after threading to ensure proper screwing onto pipe.
• Read a tape measure and micrometer for quality checks.
• Proficient with basic math and measurement reading.
• Ability to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
