Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial (MPI) in Virginia is seeking a Machine Operator I to join our fabrication and machining team. The role focuses on measuring, threading, adjusting flange fit, and facing ductile or steel pipe using manual tools, lathes, and threaders.

You will operate machines and a crane to move pipe, control quality with taped measurements, and work mainly with 3 to 6 inch pipes up to 18 feet long. Safety, punctuality, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Previous experience with machinery is desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Operates and monitors lathes, threaders, and related equipment.
• Measures and inspects pipe threads for proper fit.
• Loads, aligns, and secures pipes and flanges between 3" to 6".
• Maintains a clean work area and adheres to PPE and safety procedures.
• Meets production output targets and assists across machines.
