Job summary

McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI) is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The operator measures, threads and faces flanges on ductile or steel pipe, using lathes and threaders, and moves pipe with a crane.

The role requires reading a tape measure and micrometer, strong math skills, and the ability to maintain quality while meeting production targets. Overtime and outdoor work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Previous experience with machinery is desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment; wear PPE as required.
• Operate machines (lathes, threaders) to machine pipes and tighten flanges.
• Verify measurements with tape measure and micrometer; ensure proper thread depth.
• Meet prescribed production output objectives for the work centre.
