Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial Calera seeks experienced Machine Operators for its Pipe Fabrication and Machining operations. You will measure, thread, and adjust flange fit on ductile or steel pipe using lathes and threaders, ensuring accurate assembly.

Operate forklifts and cranes to move pipe, maintain safety, and meet daily production goals. Proficiency with basic math and a tape measure is required; overtime and outdoor work are common in this role.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots.
• Operate forklift to move pipe inside/outside the plant.
• Operate pipe cut-off saw and test flange threading.
• Read a tape measure and micrometer to ensure precision.
• Work with pipe and flanges from 3” to 24” diameter, 6 in to 18 ft long.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and meet production targets.
