Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations to transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to company policies, including performing pre/post inspections, maintaining equipment, documenting reports, and following all safety procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment to ensure safety and proper function.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Complete routine service and report repairs as needed.
• Document equipment condition and safety reports; follow safety policies.
• Keep the shop area clean and orderly after each shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
