Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders and related machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, performing pre- and post-operation inspections and minor servicing.

You will monitor waste, ensure equipment readiness, document reports, follow safety policies, and keep the shop area clean at the end of each shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per Company policy.
• Safely operate equipment that may include forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and others using proper safety standards.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.
• Monitor equipment condition to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment; refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Report and other reports; report repairs to supervisor as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; keep shop clean and organized after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
