Amrize, a leading construction materials supplier in the United States, has immediate openings for a Milling Machine Operator in our Asphalt division. You will operate milling machines to remove pavement and prepare surfaces for repaving.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on milling machine experience, a high school diploma, and strong safety awareness. You will coordinate with paving crews, perform inspections, and help maintain equipment while meeting production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on asphalt milling machine experience.
• Daily travel required; reliable transportation.
• Expert understanding of milling techniques and pavement requirements.
• Reading and interpreting project plans, grades, and layouts.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Strong coordination with paving crews, trucks and site supervisors.
• Commitment to safety standards and traffic control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling machines to remove asphalt and concrete to specified depths and grades.
• Monitor machine performance and depth to ensure smooth milling.
• Adjust milling equipment settings to meet project specs.
• Coordinate with paving crews, trucks, and equipment operators to maintain workflow.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on milling machinery.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or surface inconsistencies.
• Follow project plans, safety procedures, and traffic control requirements.
• Maintain clean work areas and proper handling of milled material.
• Promote a safety culture and health/environmental policies.
