Job summary

Amrize is actively seeking an Equipment Operator for its Asphalt division to safely operate multiple paving and heavy equipment on US projects. The role requires experience with skid steers, rollers, tack trucks, and milling machines, along with daily inspections and strict safety adherence.

You will support paving operations, maintain correct depth and grade, coordinate with the crew, and help ensure timely project completion in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt paving or heavy construction equipment, with the ability to safely and effectively operate multiple types of equipment
• Travel: Daily travel required, Must have reliable transportation
• Experience operating asphalt, paving, or heavy construction equipment
• Ability to operate multiple types of equipment rather than being limited to one machine
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving and construction operations
• Follow directions and work under supervision of a Foreman or Superintendent
• Demonstrated commitment to job-site safety and proper equipment operation
• Daily equipment inspections and identification of issues
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Outdoor work in varying weather
• Extended hours, weekends, or overtime as needed
• Strong communication within a paving crew
• Maintain focus around coworkers and traffic
• Willingness to assist with general paving activities
• Learn and operate additional equipment as needed
• Professional attitude and meeting project schedules

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of asphalt and heavy construction equipment.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment safety.
• Support asphalt paving operations and ensure proper material placement and grade.
• Operate rollers and compaction equipment for dense, smooth pavement.
• Operate milling machines to remove old asphalt and prep surfaces.
• Coordinate with foremen, laborers, and drivers to keep paving on schedule.
• Report mechanical issues and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA and site rules.
• Assist with general paving activities as needed.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to PPE protocols.
