Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Milling Machine Operator in our Asphalt division in the United States. The role focuses on precisely removing pavement to depth and grade, ensuring a smooth surface for repaving.

You’ll work with paving crews and equipment to maintain workflow, meeting project specs while following strict safety protocols. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on milling experience, read plans accurately, and perform preventative maintenance on milling machines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt milling machines.
• Daily travel required; reliable transportation.
• Ability to read project plans, grades, and layout with precision.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Commitment to safety standards including traffic control and site protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling machines to remove asphalt/concrete surfaces to specified depths and grades.
• Monitor machine performance, material flow, and cutting depth for smooth milling.
• Adjust milling equipment settings to meet project specs and surface requirements.
• Coordinate with paving crews, dump trucks, and other operators to maintain workflow.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on milling machinery.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or surface inconsistencies during milling ops.
• Follow project plans, safety procedures, and traffic control requirements at all times.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; proper handling of milled material.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.
