Job summary

SRS Distribution is seeking an entry-level trainee to gain hands-on exposure across warehouse operations, logistics, safety, and sales. You’ll learn our business model, culture, and core values while gaining practical skills in a structured, on-the-job training program.

You’ll work with WMS, participate in safety and compliance activities, and support branch performance, deliveries, and customer service. Local travel may be involved; no overnight travel expected.

Qualifications

• Active-duty service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge or military internship program.
• 0–1 year of relevant work experience (entry-level friendly).
• Approval from Chain of Command.

Responsibilities

• Support safety and compliance by following OSHA standards and PPE usage.
• Assist with warehouse logistics including inventory control and order fulfillment.
• Operate material handling equipment and assist in on-site deliveries.
• Receive, inspect, and store materials with accurate records.
• Use WMS and internal tools to track inventory and shipments.
• Perform daily/weekly inspections and document results per DOT standards.
• Support routing, scheduling, and GPS-based delivery tools.
• Enter and manage purchase orders and vendor docs.
• Monitor unbilled orders, backorders, and supplier disputes.
• Participate in financial operations to support branch performance.
• Deliver customer service via counter sales, calls, and walk-ins.
• Learn pricing models and understand overrides on profitability.
• Build product knowledge and assist vendor relationship management.
