Job summary

SRS Distribution - McKinney is seeking a SkillBridge Operations Trainee for the Southeast Region to gain hands-on exposure across warehouse operations, sales, finance, safety, supply chain and HR. You will learn the business model, culture and core values while participating in structured on-the-job training enabling a civilian career transition.

You'll support safety compliance, inventory control, order fulfillment, logistics, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Active-duty DoD SkillBridge eligibility required.
• 180 days or fewer remaining on active duty at program start.
• Approval from Chain of Command required.
• Pay Grade E5 and above preferred.
• Some college or vocational training in logistics or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA standards, PPE usage, and forklift safety protocols.
• Assist with warehouse logistics: inventory control, cycle counting, stock rotation, and order fulfillment.
• Operate material handling equipment and ensure safe loading/unloading.
• Receive, inspect, and store materials with accurate records.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory and shipments.
• Perform daily/weekly equipment inspections and document results.
• Support routing and delivery logistics using GPS systems.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and assist CDL drivers.
• Enter and manage purchase orders and vendor documentation.
• Monitor unbilled orders and supplier disputes.
• Assist with daily cash reconciliation and branch financials.
• Provide excellent customer service at counter and via phone.
