Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking an entry‑level Operations trainee to gain hands‑on exposure across warehouse operations, safety, and business functions.

You’ll learn through structured on‑the‑job training while supporting logistics, inventory control, and customer service at branch locations in the Midwest region. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and career growth within a fast‑paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Active-duty servicemember eligible for the SkillBridge program.
• 180 days or fewer remaining on active duty at start of program.
• Approval from Chain of Command required; pay grade E5 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support safety and OSHA compliance across operations.
• Assist with warehouse logistics: inventory control, cycle counts, stock rotation, order fulfillment.
• Operate material handling equipment and ensure proper loading/unloading per guidelines.
• Receive, inspect, and store materials with accurate records.
• Use WMS and internal tools to track inventory, shipments, and safety compliance.
• Conduct daily/weekly inspections and document results per DOT & company standards.
• Assist routing, delivery scheduling, GPS usage, and vendor interactions.
• Enter purchase orders and manage vendor receiving docs; monitor unbilled orders and backorders.
• Provide counter sales support and customer service to walk-in customers.
• Learn pricing models and impact of overrides on profitability.
• Shadow branch leadership to understand operations and career paths.
