Job summary

CEC is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Mississippi to implement safety programs, coach crews, and maintain regulatory compliance on construction sites.

The role focuses on daily field walks, audit oversight, incident investigations, and developing corrective action plans to improve safety culture. Travel to project sites is expected, with a strong emphasis on training and field safety leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree or extensive training in environmental health and safety.
• 1–3 years construction safety experience, electrical/mechanical safety preferred.
• OSHA 30 Construction required; OSHA 510/511 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor employees to promote safe behavior and safety culture.
• Conduct daily field walks and audit compliance.
• Submit site safety audits and address hazards with corrective actions.
• Perform periodic inspections of tools and equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
• Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Provide site-specific safety orientations for new hires.
• Coordinate subcontractor compliance with safety requirements.
