Job summary

Job description

  • Lead and manage the operational and financial aspects of gas power generation construction projects
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the client’s project management team
  • Identify potential leads and assist estimators with pricing proposal development
  • Establish and enforce safe working conditions, safety procedures, Best Practices, process utilization, and risk management
  • Monitor and audit safety practices, including orientation, special risks, cranes, DOT requirements, JHAs, LOTO, electrical safety, accident injury management, and TRIR goals
  • Direct project staffing, including hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination, using company resources and processes
  • Coordinate labor and equipment resources with other Site Managers, Managers of Construction, and Directors
  • Provide coaching, feedback, training, mentorship, and team-building for supervisory personnel and craft labor
  • Communicate and collaborate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders
  • Manage construction activities against client requirements, schedule, safety, quality, and budget
  • Coordinate project commencement planning, trade alignment meetings, and Plan of the Day meetings
  • Monitor project costs, compare actual costs with estimates, and report overruns and change orders
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, supplies, and subcontractors to maximize quality and production while minimizing costs
  • Conduct daily field visits and ensure contract, subcontract, and supplier scopes are fulfilled
  • Ensure projects are safe, productive, efficient, technically compliant, and quality compliant
  • Conduct phase close-out meetings with the Estimating Team
  • Review monthly and weekly project reports and ensure accurate tracking of quantities, labor hours, and costs
  • Support financial forecasting, invoice submission, and positive cash flow
  • Oversee compliance with project specifications, Quality Plan, Best Practices, and Blattner Energy Quality Systems
  • Implement and train employees on quality procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Support local hiring and attend public information meetings and job/career fairs
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor
Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
  • Ability to supervise and present to a large number of employees
  • Working knowledge of equipment and appropriate applications
  • Effective oral, written, listening, and presentation communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and Visio
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Accounting, math, and record-keeping knowledge
  • Involved with and understands all disciplines of current project tasks
  • Must relocate to the project site for the duration of each assigned construction project
  • May be required to become a qualified individual in pursuit of company contract licensing
