Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Construction Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute construction activities on natural gas infrastructure megaprojects. You will lead construction managers, inspectors, and support staff, overseeing design, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in energy infra, strong knowledge of contracts and scheduling, and experience with Primavera P6 and MS Office tools. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in construction, inspection, or commissioning with power plants or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Broad understanding of engineering, estimating, and construction management.
  • Knowledge of ASME, DOT, API, OSHA, and AWS inspection procedures.

Job description


  • Plan, coordinate, and execute construction activities on natural gas infrastructure megaprojects

  • Lead construction managers, inspectors, and support staff

  • Oversee development, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations

  • Supervise front-end development, planning, design and engineering, bid package development, bidding, contractor selection, and construction kickoff

  • Review scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, drawings, execution plans, and contracts

  • Identify project risks and suggest mitigation strategies

  • Provide direction and leadership to project construction teams and ensure work meets specifications, procedures, and standards

  • Provide input on contracting strategy and participate in contractor qualification, capability assessment, and personnel vetting

  • Establish working relationships with construction departments and resolve interface issues

  • Facilitate QA/QC inspection programs

  • Ensure adherence to construction contracts and help resolve quality, staffing, and change-order issues

  • Coordinate workforce planning and career development for direct employees

  • Assign team members to projects, and train and develop team members

  • Review QA/QC staffing plans, construction execution plans, cost/schedule management, and reporting plans

  • Establish expectations for safety and environmental compliance

  • Evaluate resource requirements and manage costs through planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends related to natural gas infrastructure construction


Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in construction, inspection, or commissioning with power plants, major power generation, and/or energy infrastructure projects in the oil & gas or related industry

  • Broad understanding of engineering, estimating, and construction management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams

  • Knowledge of construction contracts, contractor procedures, and construction work sequences for plants, stations, and pipelines

  • Understanding of ASME, DOT, API, OSHA, and AWS inspection procedures

  • Experience and knowledge in earned value, schedule of values, Primavera P6 schedules, and progress reporting

  • Outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and commitment to safety

  • High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Systems, High Voltage Electrical, and High Voltage Systems

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Science

  • Preferred: fifteen (15) years of relevant natural gas infrastructure and related project experience

  • Preferred: previous managerial or supervisory experience

  • Preferred: FERC project experience

  • Preferred: high voltage electrical experience, such as 345kV
