Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead large-scale industrial and commercial projects in the United States. You will direct project scope, budget, schedule, and safety compliance while mentoring PMs and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, client relations, and value engineering, with responsibility for risk management, procurement, and contractual adherence throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience in electrical construction, industrial and commercial
  • Experience with NEC, OSHA, and Safety Codes/Practices
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $5M to $15M+

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome of assigned electrical construction projects
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers
  • Oversee large or complex projects and provide leadership across concurrent projects
  • Coordinate with executive, operations, engineering, prefab, HR, workforce, safety, and field supervision teams
  • Manage takeoffs, budgeting, procurement, pull planning, scheduling, production tracking, and personnel supervision
  • Manage project correspondence and documents through designated systems
  • Liaise with customers and project staff regarding scope changes, issues, milestones, constraints, and progress
  • Grow and maintain customer relationships
  • Delegate tasks and provide clear instructions to team members
  • Create, update, and implement project schedules using scheduling programs
  • Lead planning and scheduling sessions with Superintendents, Foremen, and other disciplines
  • Establish methods for identifying and tracking completed work
  • Lead and supervise lead Superintendents and report progress to field operations leadership
  • Provide problem-solving and decision-making support to project teams
  • Advise Engineering on project design and value engineering solutions
  • Participate in kick-off, alignment, turnover, status, and closeout meetings
  • Complete PM Summaries for project review meetings
  • Review and analyze bid documents and provide feedback to estimating and engineering
  • Identify and implement prefabrication solutions and analyze costs
  • Establish contract and change-order budgets
  • Complete risk analyses and review and negotiate customer contracts
  • Ensure permits and business licensing are in place
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, licensing, and employment laws
  • Develop and implement project manpower strategies with HR and field supervision
  • Negotiate, review, and approve subcontracts and major material purchases
  • Provide financial projections, work-complete reports, and progress reports
  • Create project documents in Coins, including RFIs, PCOs, RFPs, submittals, issues, risks, opportunities, and meeting minutes
  • Review and audit field documents, including daily reports, safety, inspection, and test reports
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance strategies and Amteck quality standards
  • Review and establish closeout documents, including as-builts, O&Ms, owner training, warranties, and extra materials
  • Review and resolve open purchase orders, invoices, and receivables
  • Ensure projects meet performance standards, applicable codes, and customer satisfaction requirements
  • Oversee materials procurement and approve RFQs for materials and tools
  • Investigate safety issues and resolve missing or damaged tools or vehicles
  • Manage client conflict resolution and communicate effectively with other departments

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced with Construction Scheduling Software; Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Experienced with AccuBid Estimating Software preferred
  • Experience with remote project management preferred
  • Strong overall computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software as well as industry-specific software
  • Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively
