Job summary

ShawnTech Communications, Inc. seeks a trustworthy and versatile technical professional to support inmate technologies in correctional facilities. You will handle phones, video visitation systems, inmate tablets, and related telecom repairs while performing data entry as required.

Preferred background includes telecom wiring, computer maintenance, and software applications. You will work independently across the region, communicating with facility personnel to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years’ technical and office experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years IT/Telephony installs and troubleshooting experience.
• Proficient with Telephony, Networking, and an understanding of wireless technology.
• Basic writing, organizational, and oral communication skills required.
• High accuracy in data entry; 50+ WPM accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver services in a timely and effective manner to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshooting, correcting, and servicing issues with inmate communication systems within 4 hours of notification.
• Maintain and repair onsite inmate technology hardware, networking hardware/software, access points, and wiring.
• Process staff requests for account suspensions, blocks/unblocks, and inmate Telephone IDs.
• Perform system checks daily to ensure phones are in working condition.
• Document preventive maintenance within two business days after inspection.
• Escalate requests outside the Site Administrator Technician scope to the Account Manager.
• Generate weekly reports on requests, tickets, and issues resolved.
• Support facilities staff with reports, investigations, and trouble reports.
