Job summary

Shawntech-Communications-Inc is seeking a versatile telecommunications technician to service inmate technology systems, including phones, video visitation, and inmate tablets. You will perform daily data entry and work independently within correctional facilities while coordinating with staff and partners to ensure quality service.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintaining hardware and wiring, and providing onsite instruction.

Qualifications

2+ years in telecommunications – installation, repair, troubleshooting of inmate systems
2+ years with computer/network installation and repair
Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
Exceptional customer service skills
Basic computer skills
Able to pass criminal background screens

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and servicing issues with inmate technology systems
Maintain, repair, and operate onsite telecommunications hardware and wiring at correctional facilities
Address basic telephone repair and maintenance needs
Meet service requirements per customer contract
Build and maintain relationships with facility personnel and customers
Interface with correctional personnel, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues
Monitor time and control service-related expenses
Deliver services timely to ensure optimal system performance
Provide onsite instruction and training for site personnel
Handle money and kiosk collections as needed
