Job summary

SHAWNTECH COMMUNICATIONS LLC is seeking a versatile telecommunications technician to support inmate phones, video visitation, and inmate tablets in Virginia facilities. The role requires troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of onsite telecom and networking hardware, with daily data entry and strong customer interaction.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in telecom, computer/network repair, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunications including inmate systems installation, repair and troubleshooting.
• 2 years of experience with computer/network installation and repair.
• Exceptional customer service skills and strong communication.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work independently within a facility.
• Some college courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, correct, and service inmate technology systems.
• Maintain, repair, and operate onsite telecom hardware and wiring.
• Address basic telephone repair and maintenance needs.
• Meet all service requirements per customer contract.
• Build and maintain relationships with facility personnel and customers.
• Interface with correctional personnel, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues.
• Monitor time and control service-related expenses.
• Deliver timely services to ensure optimal system performance and satisfaction.
• Provide onsite instruction and training for site personnel as needed.
