Qualifications

• BSN preferred as education baseline; TX RN license required.
• ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC/TCAR within 6 months of hire.
• ENLS certification required for NSICU.
• Willingness to be cross-trained to like areas.
• Willingness to be trained for charge nurse responsibilities.
• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English – verbal and written and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Administer medications and therapies safely within nursing scope.
• Perform admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and active communication with team.
• Lead rounds and coordinate care with interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure care aligns with Texas Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Mentor junior staff and support charge nurse activities.
