Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
• Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Texas required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire.
• Willingness to be trained for charge nurse.
• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Implements physician orders safely and accurately.
• Assists with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
• Transcribes and implements new physician orders.
• Maintains detailed, accurate nursing records.
• Provides health teaching and emotional support to patients and families.
• Completes rounds and prioritizes patient needs.
• Administers medications and therapies within scope of practice.
• Develops and updates patient care plans per facility policy.
• Ensures a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.
• Coordinates with the care team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Responds to issues and communicates with supervisor as needed.
