Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX, is seeking an RN to cover Nights in the ICU-CCU on a PRN basis. You will provide patient-centered nursing care through all stages of the nursing process, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC/TCAR within specified timelines, with cross-training to related areas and the potential to become a charge nurse after gaining experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license required.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire; NIHSS within six months.
• TNCC/TCAR within six months; ENLS preferred for NSICU.
• Willingness to cross-train to like areas and train as charge nurse.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process with assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team; ensure effective and efficient patient care.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor patient responses.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Maintain accurate nursing records; participate in education for patients and families.
• Adapt to unit needs; provide weekend/holiday coverage as required.
• Support and potentially precept others after two years of nursing experience.
