Job summary

Burlington Stores is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will be stationed at store entrances and high-risk areas, greeting customers with energy and professionalism, and reporting theft to the Manager on Duty.

The role requires knowledge of shortage reduction programs, strong awareness of surroundings, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience preferred in customer service, retail, or loss prevention.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and monitor store areas.
• Strong communication and a positive, energetic demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits and high-risk areas to deter theft.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm, confident greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks per safety and security standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress standards.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs.
