Job summary

Burlington Stores in Emeryville, CA is seeking a part-time Shortage Control Associate to deter theft and maintain a safe shopping environment. You will greet customers, monitor entrances, and report suspicious activity while upholding store standards and our customer-first approach.

With 1+ years in customer service/retail, you will help train teammates and participate in loss prevention programs, standing during shifts. Base pay is $20.34 per hour, with benefits for eligible part-time staff.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, wearing the designated dress standards, radio and earpiece.
• Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting.
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subject(s) to the Manager on Duty.
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly.
• Monitor entrance for the entire duration of every shift.
