Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help secure entrances, monitor high‑risk areas, and deliver friendly customer service while enforcing theft‑prevention practices.

You will greet customers confidently, stay aware of your surroundings, and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty. This part‑time role offers a base wage of $14 per hour, an associate discount, flexible hours, and potential medical coverage and 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance, greet customers with a warm, loud greeting to promote a sense of control and security
• Monitor the entrance/front of store to reduce theft opportunities
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a smile and visible confidence
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
