Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help secure the store while delivering friendly customer service. You will monitor entrances, engage with customers, and report theft incidents to leadership as part of a proactive shortage-reduction program.

The role emphasizes professional appearance, strong awareness of surroundings, and collaboration with store leadership to maintain safety and a welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and exits and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to Manager on Duty.
• Greet every customer with a warm, confident, and energetic greeting at entrances/exits.
• Partner with store leadership to support shortage reduction programs and safety standards.
