Job summary

Cox Fleet is actively seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II to join our on-site shop team. This role focuses on certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light to heavy repairs, and fabrications as needed.

You will work with brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and more, under supervision, continually learning advanced mechanical skills. The position requires adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the Service Writer to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; related field experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field; alternative combinations may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers in a shop setting.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil checks, battery tests, and lubrication.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair trailer systems including brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and chassis.
• Document work performed and parts used; maintain compliance with DOT and safety policies.
• Collaborate with Service Writer and Shop Manager to estimate repairs and obtain approvals.
