Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site role at a Cox location. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers, with opportunities to work on brakes, air lines, liftgates, and related systems.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED with 3+ years in a related field, or 5 years of equivalent experience. DOT compliance and safety are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge or training preferred.
• Must be able to pass a DOT-regulated background screen; valid DOT medical card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance inspections on trailers.
• Carry out light to heavy repairs including brakes, air lines, liftgates, and other trailer systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop; document work on Repair Orders with photos.
