Job summary

Avery Dennison is hiring a Shipping Team Manager for our Greenfield, Indiana facility. You will lead safety, quality, and productivity initiatives while driving cost-effective operations on a shift basis.

The role requires 3+ years of leadership in manufacturing, with a preference for a degree in Operations Management or related field, and experience with Lean Sigma tools to improve processes and engage teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of leadership, process improvement, and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, support, and develop a diverse team of talent.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems (best practices), processes, and technology to achieve operational results.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve issues and implement preventive solutions.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening) and familiarity with Lean Sigma (ELS) principles.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety as the top value and enforce EHS policies; lead safety training and corrective actions.
• Provide shift leadership to meet safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory targets.
• Initiate and support lean improvements to boost safety, engagement, and productivity.
• Ensure SOPs, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and safety audits are followed; participate in process optimization projects.
• Oversee daily team activities, coaching, performance reviews, and Kaizen/ELS events.
