Job summary

Avery Dennison is hiring a Shipping Team Manager for its Greenfield, Indiana facility. You will lead a shift focused on safety, quality, and productivity while driving Lean Sigma improvements and cost control.

You will develop a high-performing team, implement standard work and SOPs, and engage in continuous improvement projects to optimize manufacturing processes. This on-site role requires strong leadership and collaboration across functions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and leadership experience in manufacturing preferred; Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, support, and develop a diverse team.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems, processes, and technology with ability to achieve results through delegation.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and manage time, projects, and organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with Lean Sigma principles and tools.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety as the top value by enforcing EHS policies and leading safety actions.
• Provide shift leadership to meet safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory targets; recognize performance.
• Initiate and support operational improvements to enhance safety, engagement, quality, scrap reduction, and productivity.
• Ensure execution of SOPs, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and audits; engage in problem solving and process projects.
• Oversee daily activities of team members including coaching, performance reviews, and Lean Sigma/Kaizen activities.
