Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks an Assistant Hotel Manager to join our shipboard team for the 2026 season. The AHM assists the Hotel Manager in managing the hotel department to ensure service quality and guest satisfaction aboard our small-ship fleet.

They supervise hotel staff, uphold dining, housekeeping, and guest services standards, and stay visible to guests and crew. The role requires travel and a flexible schedule, with leadership responsibilities across shipboard operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication (English).
• Available to travel and work a flexible schedule including long days for extended periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• US Coast Guard pre-employment drug test required.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Housekeeping Manager and Guest Service Coordinator under the Hotel Manager’s direction.
• Assist the Hotel Manager as directed and support dining room operations.
• Perform duties of Hotel General Manager when off ship 1–2 times per week.
• Prepare turnover and handoff of duties with Hotel Manager during time off.
• Be present during all meals and oversee service in front or back of house.
• Maintain cleanliness in staterooms and public spaces and assist with inspections.
• Oversee shipboard events, training, scheduling and crew appearance standards.
• Assist Officers in achieving weekly sales goals and maintain sanitation standards.
