Job summary

Applegreen is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead shifts and ensure exceptional customer service across our New Jersey travel plazas. You will train new team members, monitor cash handling, and enforce brand standards and food safety policies.

You will supervise daily operations, assist in opening/closing procedures, manage POS transactions, and uphold product quality. This role requires flexibility for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Cash handling and customer service experience required (minimum 1 year).
• Shift supervisor or leadership experience preferred (supervisory responsibility).
• Ability to engage with the public in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the activities of team members on shift.
• Provide friendly customer service and resolve complaints.
• Complete opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists per policy.
• Operate POS system, process payments, and follow cash handling policies.
• Ensure proper food handling, labeling, dating, stocking, and temperature checks.
• Perform kitchen tasks: prepping, thawing, cooking, packing, wrapping, cleaning.
• Stock, clean, and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Cross-sell and upsell products where appropriate.
• Maintain knowledge of plaza products and services.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Follow brand standards and food safety requirements.
• Inform plaza leadership of observations or problems.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
