Job summary

BRC is seeking a Shift Supervisor in New York to oversee frontline staff and ensure safe shelter operations and policy compliance. The role focuses on maintaining daily operations, records, and incident response across shifts.

Qualified candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, supervisory experience, and relevant certifications. Health insurance, vacation time, and a 403(b) retirement plan are offered along with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred.
• At least one year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes.
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations support staff.
• Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, security, and fire safety compliance.
• Ensure staff follow all agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes.
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed.
• Participate in weekly program and leadership meetings.
• Provide emergency First Aid/CPR assistance when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
