Job summary

BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. seeks a Shift Supervisor in New York to lead frontline staff, oversee shelter operations, and ensure safety, policies, and documentation standards are followed.

You will supervise Community Technicians, maintain daily operations, respond to incidents, participate in leadership meetings, and provide First Aid/CPR when needed. Shift: evenings, 37.5 hours weekly; benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred.
• At least one year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes.
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations support staff.
• Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, security, and fire safety compliance.
• Ensure staff follow all agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes.
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed.
• Participate in weekly program and leadership meetings.
• Provide emergency First Aid/CPR assistance when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
