Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completing basic management training, and learning key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through excellent service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support store management in executing store operations and enhancing performance, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

1. Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, fostering positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in retail
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Advanced communication skills
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
