Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions include:
1. Management
• Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and follow-up
• Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail experience preferred
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, computer, and advanced communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
