Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support store management and lead the team across assigned shifts. You will act as Manager on Duty, maintain neighbor service standards, and ensure operational execution.

This is an entry-level leadership role in a busy retail environment focused on pet care and customer experience. The position emphasizes teamwork, coaching, and hands-on involved leadership, with responsibilities spanning opening/closing, cash handling, inventory, and safety.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide direction and make decisions as Manager on Duty.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and operate store equipment after training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty and provide direction to team during shift.
• Lead by example and reinforce neighbor service, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor completion, and coach in real time.
• Assist with training and onboarding of team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and escalate significant issues.
• Execute opening/closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and back-office duties.
• Support stocking, merchandising, price changes, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness, animal care, safety, and store conditions.
• Communicate concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other trained services as needed.
