Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Shift Supervisor to provide leadership on assigned shifts and act as Manager on Duty when needed. The role supports store management, ensures neighbor service, and maintains store conditions, animal care, and safety.

Qualifications include prior retail or customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to train or onboard team members. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and flexible scheduling to meet store needs.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and provide direction to team members throughout the shift.
• Lead by example and reinforce expectations for neighbor service, teamwork, productivity, and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and elevate significant issues when appropriate.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and assigned back-office responsibilities.
• Support daily stocking and down stocking, truck processing, merchandising, price changes, inventory accuracy, and store recovery.
• Maintain standards for cleanliness, animal care, safety, security, and overall store conditions.
• Communicate team, operational, or safety concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other approved services when trained and required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business.
