Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support store management and lead a team during assigned shifts. The role includes acting as Manager on Duty, guiding daily tasks, coaching team members, and ensuring excellent neighbor service and store standards.

The position emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and the ability to train staff, handle cash procedures, and maintain animal care and safety in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide direction and make decisions while on duty.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and provide direction to team during the shift.
• Lead by example, reinforcing neighbor service, teamwork, productivity, and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion, and provide real-time coaching.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and escalate significant issues when needed.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and back-office tasks.
• Support daily stocking, pricing changes, inventory accuracy, and store recovery.
• Maintain cleanliness, animal care, safety, and store conditions.
• Communicate concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other trained services as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
