Job summary

Applegreen, a people business with services across travel plazas, is hiring a Shift Supervisor in New Jersey. You will lead shift teams to deliver friendly service, ensure brand standards and food safety, and help train new team members.

The role requires cash handling, POS operation, stock and kitchen tasks, and the ability to work flexible days, nights, weekends, and holidays. You will oversee opening and closing procedures and maintain high standards across the plaza.

Qualifications

• Cash handling and customer service experience required.
• Shift supervisor or leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, outgoing manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the activities of team members on shift.
• Consistently provide friendly customer service by engaging in positive, helpful interactions with customers and resolve complaints.
• Complete opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
• Operate POS system, accurately process & receive payment from customers, and follow all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labelling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products.
• Complete with a variety of kitchen-related tasks including prepping, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning.
• Stock, clean, and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Actively cross-sell and up-sell products.
• Maintain a solid knowledge of products and services available in the plaza.
• Assist in the training of new team members.
• Follow required brand standards, food safety requirements, as well as all company policies and procedures.
• Inform plaza leadership of any observations, concerns, or problems that are witnessed or experienced.
• Execute a variety of other tasks as assigned.
