Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers in New Jersey is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead daily operations at our travel plaza locations. You will supervise team members, ensure excellent customer service, and uphold food safety and brand standards.

This role requires strong cash handling skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to train new hires, manage opening and closing procedures, and maintain inventory and cleanliness across the plaza.

Qualifications

• Cash handling and customer service experience required.
• Shift supervisor or leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the activities of team members on shift.
• Consistently provide friendly customer service by engaging with customers and resolving complaints.
• Complete opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in line with company policies.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) system, process payments, and follow cash handling policies.
• Ensure proper food handling procedures including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures.
• Perform kitchen-related tasks such as prepping, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning.
• Stock, clean, and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Actively cross-sell and up-sell products and maintain product knowledge.
• Assist in training new team members and follow brand standards and safety requirements.
• Inform plaza leadership of observations or problems and support other tasks as assigned.
